Supporting the Next Generation of Surfers with Chill Foundation

At Fun Surf LA, we believe that surfing should be accessible to everyone.

For the past five years, we have proudly partnered with Chill Foundation to help introduce underserved youth from West Los Angeles to the ocean through the sport of surfing. Together, we host two five-week surf programs each year, providing participants with free surf instruction, equipment, ocean safety education, and the opportunity to build confidence in and out of the water.

Surfing can be difficult to access for many young people due to the cost of lessons and equipment, transportation challenges, and limited exposure to ocean sports. Through Chill Foundation’s programs, these barriers are reduced, creating opportunities for youth to experience the physical, social, and emotional benefits of surfing.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of watching participants gain confidence, develop new skills, form lasting friendships, and discover a connection to the ocean that may not have otherwise been possible.

This summer, Chill Foundation is launching its First Waves Campaign to raise funds that help make these programs possible. Donations directly support free surf programming and outdoor experiences for young people who might not otherwise have access to them.
